Update:
D-1 to Draft Night and we currently have 34 players in the draft pool. This will mean that each team will be drafting 4 players each, or a total of 32 players. If you are interested to join the auction pool, registration is still open and will close tomorrow, Sunday 27/2, at 8pm SG time. Refer to the previous message for signup instructions ^
Q: What happens to the undrafted players?
- Given that it is unrealistic for a 9th player (and beyond) to get reasonable game time, we will not be allocating them to any teams.
- However, as participants that have signed up for the draft but are left undrafted, these players will be Free Agents, and can be signed by any team should one of their 8 players decide to withdraw from the tournament for whichever reason. (Captains must inform me who is withdrawing and which Free Agent will be join the team. The withdrawn player will consequently become a Free Agent and will not play for any team until he is signed by another team)
Message from the admin himself
While I concede that this (on having undrafted players) is one of the downsides of dissolving Division 1 and Division 2 to form a division-neutral league, it will be an important catalyst in creating a hyper-competitive Haxball scene in Asia, as well as bringing about a new generation of Captains that will lead their teams (regardless of experience) to their respective glories.
Having said that, this is a pilot season to gauge the value of a division-neutral league and decide if future AHL seasons will be conducted the same way. I am open to feedback regarding the management and structure of the league so feel free to ping me or drop me a private message if you have any feedback. Stay tuned for AHL S2 Draft Night tomorrow at 9pm SG time LIVE on my Twitch channel (look out for the announcement tmr)!
